Ride The Wave of Life

Ah, inspiration. Sometimes, its just there and you can feel the rise of motivation from the inside, out, begging to be put to use. And with this motivation, you can go on to do/create/become great things! But sometimes, we get stuck waiting for that burst of inspiration to hit before starting that next big thing, which eventually turns into not completing the goal altogether. What you might not know is that a lot of times, this inspiration cycle has to be created. Let me explain…

The up

We can all relate to that energetic feeling that allows us to feel connected, motivated, and eager to accomplish whatever goal we’ve establish. Dont’t you just love it? You get inspired, you start fantasizing about what the end goal looks like, your motivation is on 10 and you think, “today’s the day I complete/start/create that thing I’ve been talking about!” In one word, you feel aligned. You get all your things together, start planning and everything! But then something happens. As soon as you sit down to get it started, you lose all motivation or become completely overwhelmed over how long it will take or if you’re even capable of doing it. “Who am I to even want to do this?? Am I even ready??”

The down

Ego takes a hold, creating stories about why you won’t be successful or what limitations you have that make you incapable of completing the goal/task/project. The doubts & fears consume you and eventually, you create some justification about why you can’t complete the thing. Ego says, “well you don’t have the newest or best equipment, so you can’t start. If you buy it, then you’ll be able to start”. Or you spend copious amounts of time online, looking for “inspiration” to restart that project or accomplish that goal, feeling like the conditions must be just right before being able to restart. And so you run with the limiting expectation that you must be perfect for others, completely forgetting why you started in the first place.

Trust me when I say, I’ve been there many, many, MANY times before. It’s not a fun time and 0 out of 10 would recommend. But the fact of the matter is that I’m sure I’m talking to a whole lot of besties on the interweb that can relate.

The Ego

Do NOT allow the “downs” to take you to depression or anxiety. Do NOT allow the doubts and fears to talk you out of your goals. These stories let us know that we’ve wandered from our True Selves. Ego is a condition that comes along with the human experience but it is not who we are at our core. It is there to keep us safe but “safe” can mean “familiar” at times and what’s familiar is not always beneficial to our growth or well-being. For me, depression feelings like helplessness; you feel as though there is nothing you can do to change the outcome. And anxiety feelings like overwhelm & hopelessness; it feels like even if I did everything I could, it wouldn’t help. I just feel like I’m drowning, with no one in sight to even see. Both states are valid but neither are helpful and most likely, untrue.

Breaking through the veil

In those down times, you must create your own burst of inspiration. Acknowledge the moment & the emotion, process them both physically & mentally, and then release the emotion around the moment in order to move forward with clarity. The point is to always come back to the original “why”. Inspiration comes to those who are meant to carry out the dream but as humans, we were never intended to do so alone. Gain inspiration by reconnecting to the Universal Why, the divinity within yourself. You are capable and you have Divine assistance.

The ups are to demonstrate the physical manifestations of our dreams-turned-reality; to show us what we’re capable of when we’re aligned with our Truth. But the downs are misunderstood. Both the ups and downs are necessary and are a part of life. Instead of beating ourselves up over the lack of motivation or for not doing what we said we would, we must understand that they are providing a time of rest, reflection, reevaluation, and redirection…if we use them as such. These moments are very important and there’s the easy route or the hard one. You can either choose to be prepared or you can choose to be caught off guard. Either way, it’s going to happen.

Divine Guidance

In essence, life is all about balance and harmony. There will always be ups and there will always be downs, either planned or forced.

Tip: We are spiritual beings living a human experience, not the other way around.

Divine intervention is always available, we just have to connect with it. Find the things that aid in rest, reflection, and reevaluation in a way that brings you peace & harmony, as these will be essential during high times. Find the things that set your soul on fire, for those will be the flint needed to spark inspiration in those low times. The only expectation we have as humans is to live life according to Nature’s way; to remember that we are stewards of ourselves & of the Earth, and that everything has its cycle.

So for now, ride the wave of life and allow your Highest & Truest Self to guide you in the necessary direction, for that’s where you’ll find that answer. Only You know exactly where you need to go.
